Spend a Red, Green…and Pink Christmas
in Ludington

Spend the holiday season in Ludington, with great local shopping, parades, caroling, all awash in Pink! To raise awareness for breast cancer, the community has banded together to decorate storefronts in pink, including pink lights on all the downtown trees. It’s all for a good cause, to raise funds for a new Woman’s Imaging Center at Memorial Medical Center.

When it comes to Christmas shopping, it just feels right to keep it local and stroll the downtown businesses, all decked out in holiday finery. Sure, it’s a bit chilly, but that adds to the atmosphere of the season! Ludington has unique shops that offer items you may not have seen anywhere else, all at great prices. And for your convenience, the downtown businesses will stay open until 8pm on Friday nights from November 28-December 19.

The perfect time to check out the downtown shops is the evening of December 5th. Around 6pm, meet at the North James Street Plaza for good old fashioned caroling, chestnuts, and hot chili, and the lighting of the tree. Then at 6:30pm, the Aglow on the Avenue Parade makes its way down Ludington Avenue—a sure way to put you in the spirit. After the parade, the Ludington Area Center for the Arts will be serving hot cider while carolers entertain you with all your favorite holiday songs. The Mason County District Library will have hot chocolate after the parade to warm you up.

Too busy to wrap Christmas gifts? Let volunteers from COVE help with that—they’ll be at Bookmark on Dec. 6, 13, and 20 to gift wrap for a small donation.

Spend Sunday, December 7 touring seven local bed and breakfasts. From 1-5pm, ride the trolley and take a step back in time as you wander from room to room in these grand homes. Music will fill the air, refreshments will warm you up, and the decorations are simply spectacular to see.

If you’re visiting Ludington and need a cozy place to stay, Best Western Splash Park Inn is the perfect choice. Kids enjoy the 100’ waterslide and game room, and for the adults, there’s a hot tub, business center, high speed wireless internet, and a free breakfast bar, which includes Belgian waffles, biscuits and gravy, and so much more.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year—make the most of it right here in Ludington!
