First-Class Golf
Golf ranks as one of the best outdoor activities, and the Ludington area has numerous public and private courses to suit golfers of all ages and skill levels.
Because of our natural landscape, Ludington’s golf courses are some of the most beautiful you’ll find anywhere, meandering through woods, pines, and orchards. Choose from nine or 18 hole courses at various price ranges and difficulty. Many feature pro shops, clubhouses, putting greens, and driving ranges. Pros on site can offer private instruction and will be happy to set an appointment with you. During your visit here, you’ll have the opportunity to golf on a course that has been rated in Golf Digest as among the best in the country - Hemlock Golf Course.
In 2001 nationally acclaimed architect Raymond Hearn designed Hemlock. The Hemlock Golf Course is a challenging 18-hole, 7044-yard course. The course has been designed from natural landscape and is one of the most scenic to be found in Michigan.
The Hemlock has a full pro shop on site as well. The staff at Hemlock Golf Course is always eager to help shoppers in any way possible. If you are making a purchase for yourself or trying to find a perfect gift for that golfer in your life, look no further than Hemlock. The pro shop is fully stocked and competitively priced. All the latest models and styles. With a great selection of balls, hats and apparel, if there is something you're looking for, there's a good chance you'll find it in Hemlock's pro shop.
Another great feature of Hemlock Golf Course is its practice facilities. You can use these areas to warm up and stretch before your round or to continue to hone your game. Either way, Hemlock takes the same approach to its practice areas as it does the rest of its golf course. A total commitment to excellence.
After a long day on the course, definitely stop by Hemlock's complete snack bar. A low-key atmosphere and friendly service make the snack bar at Hemlock a popular spot to relax and recount your round. Play Hemlock "where the greens are fast, the beer is cold, and the hot dogs are the best this side of Wrigley Field."
If you’re looking for something other than traditional golf, Ludington also has various miniature golf courses and the newest rage—disc golf. Five courses await those who would like to try this fast-growing sport, which involves tossing a disc toward a target. Ludington is home to the Mason County Disc Golf Association, and has hosted the Michigan State Finals the past 13 years.
Great exercise—and fun for all ages—whatever your style of golf, you’ll find it here in Ludington, along the shores of Lake Michigan.
